The Cascadia Community
Redefining Community For An Interconnected World

Environmental stewardship, sustainable employment, Spaces filled with art and music in the air. When developer Patrick Kuo first envisioned Cascadia, he saw the opportunity to create something truly unique. He envisioned a one-of-a kind place that would bring together the world's most innovative ideas in housing and recreation, in education and the arts, in business and technology. A place that would preserve the natural beauty of the environment. And enrich the lives of all who lived and worked there. Today that vision is emerging in a 5000-acre planned community with a scenic backdrop of beautiful Mt. Rainier.

  • Cascadia is located 12 miles southeast of Tacoma, Washington, near the communities of Sumner, Bonney Lake and Orting.

  • Rising above the Carbon River valley in a series of terraces, Cascadia offers spectacular views of the Cascades and Puget Sound.

  • Phase 1, scheduled to open in 2008 - 2009, includes 800+ acres of residential neighborhoods, parks and trails featuring homes by the region's premier builders.

  • A science-and-arts elementary school, high-tech business park, resort hotel, conference center and 18-hole championship golf course are planned as part of Phase I.

When complete, Cascadia will be the largest planned community in the state of Washington, creating an estimated 10,000 jobs over 20 years.
