When it is complete, Cascadia will be home to four elementary schools, two junior high schools and a senior high school. Its first elementary school, located on 14 acres near the Retail Village, will open in 2009 with an innovative arts and science curriculum. Everything about it - from its dramatic glass wall entry to its wireless connectivity - is designed to enhance the learning process.

• Because research suggests that natural light may bolster student achievement, there is extensive use of glass, creating an almost transparent feel to the interior of the school.
